As seniors start finalizing their college lists, it's imperative to have a variety of colleges in each category. For most California students, California State Universities (CSU) are definitely on the list and depending on the strength of their application some CSUs might be considered safety or target.
When placing colleges in your safety/target category, please be aware that many CSU campuses are impacted when it comes to certain majors. A campus is considered impacted when they believe the number of applications (from qualified applicants) received will be greater than the freshmen seats they have to fill. When a campus is impacted, this will effect admission for students who are outside the local admission area.
