Rising seniors.. it's now or never!!

Another school year in the books — and there's something about that first week of summer that never gets old. Time has a way of slipping by, and with my own kids out in the world now, summers in the Chopra household look a little different than they used to. But step outside, and you can still feel it: that unmistakable shift in the air, the slower pace, the neighborhood coming alive in its own quiet way.

For rising seniors, though, this summer is anything but slow. The next few months are arguably the most important stretch of the entire college application journey. Essays need to be drafted, college lists need to be finalized, and the self-reflection that makes for a compelling application takes time — more time than most students expect.

The good news? Summer is the gift. No bells, no deadlines (well, maybe a few internal deadlines), no distractions. Just the space to think clearly about who you are, what you want, and how to tell that story in a way that resonates with admissions readers. The students who use this time well arrive at fall in a completely different position than those who wait. And that's why I need everyone to know - it's now or never. Families seem to think they're 'early' and I'll try to be gentle when I say you're not. My juniors have spent the last six months researching majors and colleges while taking part in internships, research projects, community service, jobs, etc. They're on track to excel come fall. Yay!!

The best applications are the ones that are put together thoughtfully, the ones that are not rushed through. And the only way to make that happen is to start now, not tomorrow, not next week - today.

Yes, school just ended last week, yes, many students just gave their SAT test this past weekend and yes, they need some downtime. However, working through June is immensely important so that July goes well and then you can actually rest in August before school starts. So if you have a senior who's ready to get to work, let's talk now, not later.

I only offer comprehensive packages because I've learned that if I only work with you on essays or college lists, there's a lot left to chance. Essays can be strong but if your college list isn't balanced then all that work amounts to nothing. On the flip side, if we put a lot of work into researching a strong list of colleges that are a good fit for you but don't work on making those essays strong then you might not see the results you were hoping for.

If you're ready to jump in, let's talk. You can book a time here.
